We are honored to add music supervisor Joey Lauren Koch to our growing roster of music industry professionals.
Joey began her start in the music business when she was 18 years old working as a Programming Assistant for the Los Angeles radio station, 102.7 KIIS FM.
Realizing that the radio business wasn’t for her, she began working at Warner Brothers Records, all while completing film school at USC. For the next few years following, Joey continued working in the music industry as a Junior Agent, booking artists on their concert tours all over the world.
In 2006, Joey received a huge break when she landed the coveted job of being the Executive Assistant to MTV’s talented Executive Producer, Kallissa Miller. It was during this time, that Joey realized her ultimate dream of being involved with music supervision could be explored. Kallissa eventually promoted Joey to Music Coordinator for the network’s #1 guilty pleasure, dating show, “NEXT”. While working on this series, Joey licensed over 300 talented musicians.
Joey has since credited her work at MTV as being one of the best learning experiences a Music Supervisor could ever have. “NEXT”, which had a short running time of about 21 minutes without commercials, had over 65 cues an episode!
Joey’s entrepreneurial ambitions of running her own company and thriving further in this business came true when she opened up StarBrite Music Supervision. Since then, she has mainly been working on movies, most recently for Universal and Anchor Bay. You can currently view some of these films on HBO and Showtime.
